Asian Hospital and Medical Center Completes Philippines’ First CyberKnife® Treatment

August 29, 2025

Asian Hospital and Medical Center recently celebrated a groundbreaking milestone as it successfully completed the first-ever CyberKnife® treatment in the Philippines. The occasion was marked with a symbolic laser beam display, representing a beacon of hope and resilience for cancer patients nationwide.

The inaugural patient, an 8-year-old child diagnosed with meningioma, a tumor affecting the protective membranes of the brain and spinal cord, completed the advanced treatment with positive outcomes.

CyberKnife® is a non-invasive, real-time, image-guided radiation therapy system that delivers highly targeted treatment with sub-millimeter precision. It is the only system of its kind in the country, offering painless, outpatient procedures with minimal damage to healthy tissue, significantly improving recovery and comfort for patients.

This achievement marks a major advancement in cancer care in the Philippines, reinforcing Asian Hospital’s commitment to bringing world-class, patient-centric technology closer to Filipino families.
